Aflibercept is used in the treatment of diabetic macular edema.

How Aflibercept works

Aflibercept is an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) medication. It works by reducing the formation of abnormal blood vessels that damage the retina and may cause vision loss in diabetic macular edema.

Common side effects of Aflibercept

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
