Sitagliptin + Glimepiride + Metformin
Information about Sitagliptin + Glimepiride + Metformin
Sitagliptin + Glimepiride + Metformin Uses
Sitagliptin+Glimepiride+Metformin is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
How Sitagliptin + Glimepiride + Metformin works
Sitagliptin + Glimepiride + Metformin is a combination of three antidiabetic medications. Sitagliptin helps to control blood sugar levels by increasing substances (incretins) in the body that make the pancreas release more insulin. It also signals the liver to stop producing sugar (glucose) when there is too much sugar in the blood. Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. Metformin decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the glucose made by the liver. It also increases the body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood (blood sugar levels).
