- Turn on the device by pushing the switch up or down
- Select a reasonable tip for the patient's ear canal and push it onto the head and screw the tip clockwise, generally, the tip size of 4mm is for adults and 2.4 mm is for children
- Put the otoscope with a tip into the ear canal of the patient, and examine through the viewing window which is with 3x magnification
- Clean the surface of the device with 75% alcohol solution at least once a week, avoiding the lenses in the head. And corrosive or polishing detergent is prohibited
- Do not soak, autoclave, or let water dip into the device
- Use the otoscope only with a fitted tip to avoid injury
- Do not use on the same ear for more than the recommended time
- Use only the specialized bulb for this device, and allow 5 minutes for cooling after the bulb burns out to avoid injury
- Replace all batteries simultaneously and do not mix alkaline and lithium batteries, as this can shorten bulb life. Remove worn batteries promptly, and take out batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period
- Preventive inspections and maintenance should be performed regularly. A safety check is recommended every 12 months by a qualified professional with the necessary training and experience
- Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of reach of children
- Consult a healthcare professional before use and if you observe any abnormalities during use
