Wilms' tumor

 

 

Wilm's tumor is a rare type of kidney cancer. It causes a tumor in one or both kidneys. It usually affects children, but can happen in adults.

 

 

Common causes are:

1. Certain genetic condition

2. Birth defects

3. Children that are at risk until they turn eight

 

 

Common symptoms include:

1. Lump in the abdomen

2. Blood in the urine

3. Fever

 

 

Your doctor may ask you to get tests which:

1. Examine the kidney

2. Blood tests

 

 

Treatments include:

1. Chemotherapy

2. Radiation

3. Biologic therapies
