Acetrom 4mg Tablet should be taken as advised by the doctor. You may take it with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly without consulting the doctor. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm.

Use of this medicine may increase your risk of bleeding. Let your doctor know immediately if you see a pinpoint rash or blood in your vomits, urine, or stool. If you are going under any surgery or dental treatment, you may need to stop this medicine for some time but only after consulting with your doctor.

Before taking it, you must inform the doctor if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and about all the other medications that you are taking regularly.

How long do I need to take Acetrom 4mg Tablet?

You should continue taking Acetrom 4mg Tablet for as long as recommended by your doctor. Depending upon the condition you are being treated for, you may have to take it for several months or years or maybe for the rest of your life.

You should avoid alcohol while taking Acetrom 4mg Tablet as alcohol may interfere with working of Acetrom 4mg Tablet. Is Acetrom 4mg Tablet same as warfarin?

Both Acetrom 4mg Tablet and warfarin are blood thinners, but they have some differences. Warfarin has a more stable blood thinning effect.

How long does it take for Acetrom 4mg Tablet to start working?

It takes a little longer for Acetrom 4mg Tablet to start working. On an average, it may take 2-3 days for Acetrom 4mg Tablet to show its blood-thinning effect. For these 2-3 days, heparin may be used and then discontinued.

What if I forget to take a dose?

If you forget to take a dose of Acetrom 4mg Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose and continue your normal schedule. Keep a diary or set a reminder, so that you do not forget it often.

What monitoring is required while taking Acetrom 4mg Tablet?

The bleeding times should be carefully monitored from 2nd or 3rd dose of Acetrom 4mg Tablet and till the clotting status is stabilized. Thereafter, the bleeding time can be monitored monthly. This frequency may be more in elderly.
