Product introduction

Algiduo Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Children below 12 years of age should take only if the doctor advice it. Continue taking the medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. However, do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks except under the advice and supervision of a doctor.

Algiduo Oral Suspension does not usually cause any side effects when taken as advised by the doctor. However, in case of overdose, it may lead to bloating. Do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks unless it is advice by the doctor.

Let the doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. It is important to consult a doctor before taking Algiduo Oral Suspension if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. This medicine is generally safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Treatment of Heartburn
Heartburn is a burning feeling in your chest caused by stomach acids traveling back up towards your throat and mouth (acid reflux). Algiduo Oral Suspension improves the movement of food in the stomach and helps prevent heartburn.

You should take it exactly as it is prescribed or as it says on the label for it to be effective. Some simple lifestyle changes can help stop or reduce heartburn. Think about what foods trigger heartburn and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3 to 4 hours of going to bed.
Treatment of Indigestion
Indigestion means discomfort of mainly the upper part of your stomach which may also have other symptoms such as stomach pain, bloating, feeling full etc. Algiduo Oral Suspension improves the movement of food in your stomach and gut (intestine). This relieves these symptoms and helps in proper digestion of food.

How Algiduo Oral Suspension works

Algiduo Oral Suspension is a combination of three medications: Calcium carbonate, sodium alginate, and sodium bicarbonate. Calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate react with stomach acid, releasing bubbles of carbon dioxide. These bubbles allow the gel to form a strong protective barrier on top of the stomach contents, thereby preventing stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus. Additionally, sodium bicarbonate dissolves quickly and neutralizes the stomach acid, exerting a rapid buffering action. Sodium alginate reacts with gastric acid present in the stomach and produces a low-density viscous gel that floats on top of the stomach. This forms a physical barrier that protects the esophageal mucosa and the airways from the gastric reflux. Alginate has a rapid onset, providing quick relief from reflux symptoms. Additionally, it has a prolonged duration of action, providing relief for up to 4 hours.

Algiduo Oral Suspension is an antacid that is known to provide effective relief from acidity and its symptoms such as heartburn, stomach discomfort, and abdominal pain. If you are suffering from acidity or any of its symptoms, you can take this medicine.
Antacids are medications that are used to treat heartburn and work by blocking the production of stomach acids or aiding in neutralizing stomach acid.
It is advisable to maintain a gap of at least 2 hours between antacids and other medicines.
Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, or any ingredient of this product. Also, this product contains sodium, people who are on a controlled sodium diet, such as those with hypertension, congestive heart failure, and renal impairment, need to talk to their doctor before taking this medicine.
The recommended dose for people over 18 years of age is 10 to 20 mL after meals and before bedtime, up to four times a day. This medicine is not recommended for children. Consult your doctor for more details.

You should preferably avoid foods that cause acidity and heartburn as they will only worsen your condition, for example, fried or spicy food, butter, oil, juices, caffeinated drinks like cola or tea, drinks from citrus fruits like lemon water or orange juice, and alcohol.
No, alcohol intake is not advised with Algiduo Oral Suspension. Alcohol itself does not affect the working of this medicine, but it can increase acid production. This may further worsen your symptoms.
