Product introduction

Avplex 30mg Capsule can be taken with or without food. Take it regularly and do not stop taking the medicine even if you get better until that doctor tells you it is alright to stop. You may need to monitor your weight regularly while taking the medicine as it may cause weight loss.

Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, and upper respiratory tract infection. If these side effects persist or get worse, let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms by prescribing you an alternative medicine or by adjusting the dose.

To make sure the medicine is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor first before taking this medicine.

Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis, a condition where the skin cells in the body grow too quickly and form scales and dry patches. They can grow anywhere, but most appear on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. Avplex 30mg Capsule reduces the scaly, itchy patches which may develop on the different parts of the body. It may take several months to become fully effective. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

How Avplex Capsule works

Avplex 30mg Capsule is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation associated with psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis, and thereby reduces the signs and symptoms of these conditions.

  • Your doctor will gradually increase the dose from day 1 to day 6 of treatment, after which it may be kept constant.

No, Avplex 30mg Capsule is not an immunosuppressant. It belongs to a class of medicines known as phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitors (PDE4) which work by blocking the activity of PDE4. PDE4 is found in inflammatory cells and blocking it helps in reducing the molecules responsible for inflammation.
Avplex 30mg Capsule is used to treat plaque psoriasis (red, scaly, thick, itchy, painful patches on skin) and psoriatic arthritis (a condition that causes joint pain and swelling). It is a long-term treatment and may take about 16 weeks to show an improvement.
Yes, Avplex 30mg Capsule may cause depression as a side effect. The patient may also develop suicidal thoughts. It should be avoided in patients with a history of depression. In case you develop any of these symptoms, consult your doctor immediately or ask your friends or relatives to help seek medical advice.
Yes, Avplex 30mg Capsule may cause a decrease in appetite which may further cause weight loss. You should monitor your weight regularly while on treatment with Avplex 30mg Capsule. In case of significant weight loss, consult your doctor and consider stopping Avplex 30mg Capsule.
Be sure to take Avplex 30mg Capsule exactly as directed by your doctor. Your doctor will prescribe a low dose initially. This dose will be increased gradually after 6 days. Swallow the tablets whole with water. You can take it with or without food.
You should not take rifampicin if you are taking Avplex 30mg Capsule. Rifampicin interferes with the working of Avplex 30mg Capsule by decreasing its levels, making it less effective. As a result, you may not see any improvement after taking Avplex 30mg Capsule.
In case you get pregnant while taking Avplex 30mg Capsule, you should inform your doctor immediately. In fact, pregnancy should be avoided during treatment with this medicine. The reason being, according to animal studies, with Avplex 30mg Capsule there may be a risk of baby loss or defects in unborn baby.
