How Bacteheal Powder works

Bacteheal Powder is a combination of two medicines: Mupirocin and Metronidazole. Mupirocin stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Metronidazole kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.

Bacteheal Powder may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor.
Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying the medicine.
Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by infection.
It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
Use moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment.

Consuming alcohol while taking Bacteheal Powder may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Pregnancy

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Bacteheal Powder is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Bacteheal Powder is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE

Bacteheal Powder may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Bacteheal Powder may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Bacteheal Powder is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Bacteheal Powder may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver
