Psychiatry
Psychosexual problems are largely caused by anxiety related to the sex act or any antecedent event during which anxiety was triggered. One's emotions, sexual understanding and socio cultural influences have a major role to play. Anxiety thus results in erectile dysfunction and/or premature ejaculation. A psychiatrist or a psychotherapist works with the client to explore these issues and conflicts so as to reach the root cause of anxiety. Medicines are available for symptomatic relief.
