Product introduction

Corto-Quinol Ointment is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. In order to get the most benefit, apply it regularly and preferably at the same time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects.  Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the medicine in these areas.

This medicine is usually safe, however, it may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These side effects are usually mild and self-limiting. Serious side effects are rare.

How Corto-Quinol Ointment works

Corto-Quinol Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Hydrocortisone and Quiniodochlor, which helps to treat skin infections. Hydrocortisone is anti-inflammatory medicine (glucocorticoid). It suppresses the action of inflammation (redness and swelling) causing products (prostaglandins and leukotrienes), thus reducing inflammation. It also reduces inflammation by decreasing the action of the immune system (lymphatic system). Quiniodochlor is an antimicrobial (hydroxyquinolones). It kills the microorganisms that cause skin infection. This how Corto-Quinol Ointment works to treat your skin infections.
