Hypertension is clinically high blood pressure. Persistent high arterial blood pressure above 120/80 mm HG is termed as pre-hypertension or hypertension, but the point to be emphasized is that this rise in blood pressure is persistent. I have high blood pressure. I am diabetic and am Nifedipine, metformin, aspirin, atorvastatin. I have ideal body weight. Blood pressure is 140/90 usually and my A 1C is 7.8 Total cholesterol is 200. Hdl is 50 LDL is 128 and triglycerides is 200. BUN is 20. Creatinine is 1.3 and urinalysis is unremarkable. Please advise optimal management.
