How to use Epina Ophthalmic Solution

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

How Epina Ophthalmic Solution works

Epina Eye Drop is an antiallergic. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes.

Quick tips

Your doctor has prescribed Epina Eye Drop to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye.
It treats short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye.
Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

How long can you use Epina Eye Drop?

The Epina Eye Drop should be instilled in the affected eye(s) with one drop twice daily. The duration of treatment with Epina Eye Drop will depend upon the disease condition, its severity, and the response of the patient to the treatment. The medicine can be given for as long as four months, if considered necessary. However, the exact duration is decided by your doctor.
