Hepgel 250IU Ointment is an anticoagulant that prevents the clotting of blood. It is applied on the skin for the treatment of post-injection superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of a vein due to a blood clot). It speeds up the formation of blood clots and decreases pain and pain and swelling.

Hepgel 250IU Ointment may also be used for treating extensive superficial bruises. It should be used as advised by your doctor. This medicine is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. In order to get the most benefit, apply it regularly and preferably at the same time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects.
Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the medicine in these areas. Local side effects like rashes may be seen after application. This is usually temporary and resolves quickly. Consult your doctor if it bothers you or if your condition doesn't improve.
