Moxiflox Tablet is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in treating infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia). It cures the infection by stopping the further growth of the causative microorganisms.

Product introduction

Moxiflox Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. You should not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned.


You may have experience headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and increase in transaminases as side effects of this medicine. These are usually temporary and resolves on its own. However, consult your doctor if they bother you or persist for a longer duration. Diarrhea may also occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools.


You should not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Special care should be taken in people with kidney problems while taking this medicine.

It usually makes you feel better quite quickly. You must continue the treatment as prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How to use Moxiflox Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Moxiflox Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Moxiflox Tablet works

Moxiflox Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Quick tips

  • You have been prescribed Moxiflox Tablet for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication.
  • Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.
  • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
  • Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the medication.

Hello Dr. i am working in a yarn manufacturing company and having infection or irritation on eyes due to Cotton Fly from last 10-11month. My Local suggest me to use Moxiflox eye drops thrice a day, after 4-5 day use my eyes get ok but after 20-25 days i feel same problem. so request you to pl advise can i use Moxiflox Daily or Lubrex is better as per my job Environment.
