Osfutuf-CV Dry Syrup can be given either before or after meals but giving it with food improves absorption and reduces the chances of stomach upset in your child. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is already time for the next dose.

Osfutuf-CV Dry Syrup contains two different medicines, Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Cefuroxime works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.

This combination medicine can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How Osfutuf-CV Oral Suspension works

Osfutuf-CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid. Cefuroxime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefuroxime. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.

Quick tips

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases.
Only give Osfutuf-CV Dry Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
