How Phenocaine Plus Injection works

Phenocaine Plus Injection is a combination of three ingredients. Tropicamide dilates the pupil (mydriasis) and paralyzes the muscle (cycloplegia) of the eye during certain medical procedures. Phenylephrine helps doctors see better inside the eye and to reduce redness. It makes your pupils (the black part in the center of your eyes) bigger. It does this by making the muscles in your eye contract. It can also shrink the blood vessels in your eyes, which helps reduce redness. Lidocaine works by blocking the nerve signals that send pain sensations to the brain. This means you won’t feel pain in your eye while the Phenocaine Plus Injection is effective.
