Product introduction

Proloc-XT Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, joint pain, fever, and rash. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they persist. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.

Before taking the medicine always consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you are suffering from any severe stomach, liver, kidney disease, or any known disease. Lifestyle modifications like having cold milk and avoiding hot tea, coffee, spicy food or chocolate can help you to get better results.

How to use Proloc-XT Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Proloc-XT Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Proloc-XT Tablet works

Proloc-XT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pantoprazole and Zinc Carnosine which treat acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Zinc Carnosine is a nutritional supplement which speeds up the healing of ulcers in stomach and intestine.

  • Proloc-XT Tablet is used for the treatment of acidity, heartburn, and stomach ulcer.
  • Do not take Proloc-XT Tablet at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks of taking this medicine.
  • Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity:
    1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
    2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
    3. Lose weight if you are obese.
    4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
    5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
    6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
