Qucold Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose and duration will depend on what you are taking it for and how well it helps your symptoms. You should keep taking the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop using it.

Using this medicine may cause nausea, difficulty in sleeping (insomnia), palpitations, increased heart rate, and restlessness. If you experience any such side effects that do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms.

Before using the medicine, you should tell your doctor if you have any other medical conditions or disorders. It may also affect, or be affected by, some other medicines you are using so let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking. It should be used with caution in patients who are alcoholic or have liver or kidney disease. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors first before using the medicine.

It helps loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It also shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours. These actions make breathing easier.

Qucold Tablet is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes, and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop using it unless you are advised otherwise.

How to use Qucold Tablet

Avoid Qucold Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

How Qucold Tablet works

Qucold Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol, Caffeine and Phenylpropanolamine which relieve common cold symptoms. Paracetamol is a analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion.

Quick tips

Qucold Tablet is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold.
Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for cold.
Along with taking Qucold Tablet do the following simple tips at home to get relief:
1. Steam inhalation.
2. Gargling with warm saltwater.
3. Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.
4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcases, etc.

Driving

UNSAFE

Qucold Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Qucold Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Qucold Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Qucold Tablet contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.

Liver

CAUTION

Qucold Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Qucold Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Qucold Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
