RT-Dom Tablet is taken in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are diarrhea, stomach pain, flatulence, dryness in the mouth, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. Lifestyle modifications like having cold milk and avoiding hot tea, coffee, spicy food or chocolate can help you to get better results.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic (long-term) condition in which there is an excess production of acid in the stomach. RT-Dom Tablet reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes and relieves the pain associated with heartburn and acid reflux. You should take it exactly as it is prescribed for it to be effective. Some simple lifestyle changes can help reduce the symptoms of GERD. Think about what foods trigger heartburn and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3-4 hours of going to bed.

Peptic ulcer disease
Peptic ulcer disease is a condition in which painful sores or ulcers develop in the inner lining of the stomach or gut (intestine). RT-Dom Tablet reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes which prevents further damage to the ulcer as it heals naturally. You may be given other medicines along with this medicine depending on what caused the ulcer. You need to keep taking the medicine as it is prescribed for it to be effective, even if the symptoms seem to disappear.

How to use RT-Dom Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. RT-Dom Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How RT-Dom Tablet works

RT-Dom Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Omeprazole, Domperidone and Simethicone. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

RT-Dom Tablet is prescribed to get relief from acidity, heartburn, and other discomfort associated with acid reflux and peptic ulcer disease.
Avoid taking soft drinks, citrus fruits like orange and lemon, which can irritate the stomach and increase acid secretion.
Do not take other indigestion remedies (antacids) without consulting your doctor.
Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity:
1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
3. Lose weight if you are obese.
4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for sometimes for better digestion.
