Sulfa BN Powder is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The most common side effect of this medicine includes itching, dryness, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. These are usually self-limiting. Serious side effects are rare. Sulfa BN Powder is a combination of three antibiotics: Sulphacetamide, Neomycin and Bacitracin. Sulphacetamide stops bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Neomycin stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions. Bacitracin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
