Your doctor will explain how to use Swelfre Solution. Follow the instructions carefully to get the most benefit. You can also read the package insert for instruction. The dose and duration will depend on what you are using it for and how well it helps your symptoms. Apply it whenever it is needed or as per the doctor’s instruction. It is generally safe with little or no side effects. However, in some people, it may cause application site reactions such as redness and swelling. These are usually mild and resolve with time. If they do not go away or bother you, you should remove your patch and contact your doctor.

Swelfre Solution is a combination of four medicines: Diclofenac diethylamine, Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, and Alcohol. Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl Salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Menthol dilates the blood vessels causing a sensation of coldness, followed by an analgesic effect. Menthol also acts as a penetration enhancer, increasing the penetration of drugs when applied on the skin, to give a faster onset of action. Alcohol acts as an analgesic and anesthetic and can reduce the sensation of both physical and emotional pain.
