Introduction of Tanspas-P Tablet

Tanspas-P Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are dryness in mouth and feeling thirsty. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.

Tanspas-P Tablet effectively relieves sudden muscle spasms or contractions in the stomach and intestine (gut), thereby relaxing the muscles and improving movement of food. This helps to treat abdominal pain (or stomach pain) as well as cramps, bloating and discomfort. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a better, more active, quality of life.

How to use Tanspas-P Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tanspas-P Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Tanspas-P Tablet works

Tanspas-P Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine and Paracetamol, which relieves abdominal pain. Drotaverine is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves spasms associated with smooth muscles. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever.

You have been prescribed Tanspas-P Tablet to get relief from abdominal pain.
Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help.

Inform your doctor if you are taking any other pain relief medicines.

Tanspas-P Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued if there is no pain. However, it should be continued if advised by the doctor.

These symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes and abnormal liver enzymes.

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Tanspas-P Tablet can lead to increased chances of side effects. If the recommended doses do not relieve your pain or you experience increased severity of pain, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
