Tmatecad 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time, each day. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor may cause an increased frequency of seizures. Your doctor may advise regular monitoring of serum bicarbonate levels while you are taking this medicine.

Some of the common side effects of this medicine include nausea, taste change, fatigue, diarrhea, weight loss, loss of appetite, and memory impairment. It may also cause vision problems like myopia or glaucoma, so it is important to get your eyesight checked before you start the treatment and regularly thereafter. You may experience dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. I am taking valproic acid for fits. Will Tmatecad 25mg Tablet interfere with the working of valproic acid? Can this combination be taken?

Tmatecad 25mg Tablet does not interfere with the working of valproic acid, but it increases the risk of getting excess levels of ammonia in the blood (hyperammonemia). Increased levels of ammonia in the blood can be dangerous and may cause difficulty in thinking, remembering information, or solving problems. It may also decrease your alertness and make you feel very sleepy with low energy. Immediately inform your doctor if you notice these symptoms. It is important to know that, in rare cases, Tmatecad 25mg Tablet alone can cause hyperammonemia.

Can Tmatecad 25mg Tablet be used in children?

Yes, Tmatecad 25mg Tablet is used for seizures in children more than 2 years of age. However, because of the lack of any reports, this medicine is not recommended to be used in children for migraines.

Since I have started using Tmatecad 25mg Tablet people are saying that I have lost weight. Is it because of Tmatecad 25mg Tablet or something else for which I should get investigated?
