How to use Trikool Eye Drop

How Trikool Eye Drop works

Trikool Eye Drop is a combination of five medicines: Naphazoline, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Naphazoline is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels of the eye to relieve inflammation (redness and swelling). Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, teary eyes. Boric acid is an antiseptic which treats bacterial infection in the eyes and relieves irritation. Sodium chloride is a purified salt solution which works by drawing out water from swollen cornea. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating formulation similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness in the eye.

Quick tips

  • Trikool Eye Drop provides soothing relief from eye irritation due to allergy.
  • It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
  • After applying Trikool Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses until your doctor advises you that it is suitable for you to wear your lenses again.
