Pentoxifylline Uses

Pentoxifylline is used in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and intermittent claudication. It is used to improve blood flow in patients with circulation problems in the hands and feet.

How Pentoxifylline works

Pentoxifylline is a peripheral vasodilator. It works by decreasing the thickness (viscosity) of blood, allowing it to pass more easily through the blood vessels. This effect is beneficial in peripheral vascular disease, where the blood vessels in the arms and legs are narrowed.
