Tegafur+Uracil is used in the treatment of cancer of colon and rectum.

How Tegafur + Uracil works

Tegafur + Uracil is a combination of two medicines: Tegafur and Uracil which treat cancer. They work by interfering with the growth of DNA and RNA of cancer cells by substituting their building blocks. This prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying.

Common side effects of Tegafur + Uracil

Nausea, Vomiting, Tiredness, Mouth sore, Sore tongue, Stomach pain, Diarrhea, Loss of appetite, Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)
