Roxithromycin + Ambroxol is a combination of two medicines: Roxithromycin + Ambroxol1 and Roxithromycin + Ambroxol2 which treat respiratory tract infection associated with excessive mucus (phlegm). Roxithromycin + Ambroxol1 is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Roxithromycin + Ambroxol2 is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Addition of Roxithromycin + Ambroxol2 enhances the antibacterial effect of Roxithromycin + Ambroxol1.
