Calamine has mild astringent, antipruritic and antiseptic actions and is used in a variety of skin conditions like sunburns, eczema and urticaria where it acts as a soothing and protective agent. Cetrimide has anti-bacterial properties.Cetrimide is indicated for use in cleaning and disinfection of wounds, burns and skin. Dimethicone protects the skin against water-soluble irritants. Dimethicone is also used topically as wound dressings.
