How Dompimol Suspension works

Dompimol Suspension contains two medicines: Domperidone and Paracetamol. Domperidone is an antiemetic that works on the vomiting center in the brain. It also increases the movement of the muscles of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraines. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause the pain associated with migraine.

Quick tips

  • If diarrhea develops as a side effect, encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids.
  • Never give any other medicines containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects.
  • Do not alter the dose by yourself as it can result in unwanted side effects in your child.
  • Do not mix Dompimol Suspension with any herbal or ayurvedic preparations as it will not be effective.
  • Stop the medicine and report to the doctor on an immediate basis if your child exhibits side effects such as itching, breathing difficulty, and swelling of the face soon after taking Dompimol Suspension.
  • Dompimol Suspension helps to ease the pain you feel during a migraine headache as well as helps to stop you from feeling sick.
  • Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help.
  • Inform your doctor if you are taking any pain relief medicine.
  • Dompimol Suspension can only decrease the number and severity of attacks but may not completely stop them.
  • Some tips that may help avoid a migraine attack:
    1. Have your meals at the same time every day.
    2. Avoid bright lights and extreme temperatures.
    3. Avoid loud music and noisy places.
    4. Avoid chocolates,  cheese, processed food, alcohol, and smoking.
    5. Get sufficient sleep and avoid stress.
