Product introduction

It is best to take Fruselac Tablet in the morning along with food in order to avoid frequent urination at night time. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

Common side effects of this medicine include dehydration, dryness of mouth, thirst, weakness, lethargy, muscle pains, and low blood pressure. It might lower down the level of calcium, sodium and magnesium in the blood. Hence, regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. It might cause dizziness or tiredness if happens rise slowly from sitting position or avoid driving.

How Fruselac Tablet works

Fruselac Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Furosemide and Spironolactone. Furosemide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also reduces blood pressure and enables heart to pump efficiently. Spironolactone is also a diuretic which conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.

The use of Fruselac Tablet should be avoided in patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide, sulfonylureas or spironolactone or any other ingredient of the product. The use of this medicine should also be avoided in patients with anuria, acute renal insufficiency, hepatic coma and pre-coma, low blood pressure (hypotension), cardiac arrhythmias, patients taking aminoglycosides or cephalosporins, kidney dysfunction due to drugs which cause renal damage, patients with high potassium levels (hyperkalemia), Addison's disease and in children with moderate to severe renal impairment.
Fruselac Tablet is a fixed-dose combination of furosemide (a loop diuretic) and spironolactone (an antagonist of aldosterone). Both are diuretics and they help to remove excess fluid from the body. The use of this combination is advised in patients of congestive heart failure (heart failure leading to fluid accumulation in the lung and rest of the body), nephrotic syndrome (a kidney disorder), liver cirrhosis with fluid retention (edema) and swelling of the abdomen (ascites).

However, in some patients it may cause common side effects like dizziness, dehydration, decreased sodium level in blood, breast enlargement in males, decreased magnesium level in blood, decreased calcium level in blood, increased blood uric acid. Yes, the use of Fruselac Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.
Yes, Fruselac Tablet can cause gout. Fruselac Tablet contains furosemide which can increase the blood uric acid levels by increasing its absorption from the kidneys. Increased uric acid levels can cause a gout attack. Inform your doctor if you have hyperuricemia (excess of uric acid in blood) or a history of gout before taking this medicine. Use of Fruselac Tablet should be avoided in patients with gout.
