Ranomend 500 ER Tablet is used for the management of angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps to prevent new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack, once started. It relieves chest pain by making the heart work more efficiently.

Ranomend 500 ER Tablet should be taken in the dose as advised by your doctor, at the same time each day. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm. If you stop taking it, your chest pain may come back.

You can improve the health of your heart by making some lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating well, taking regular exercise, and managing stress. Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, constipation, and weakness. Talk to your doctor if these bother you or do not go away.

Ranomend 500 ER Tablet may not suitable for some people. Tell your doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems. Also let your doctor know all other medications you are using as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. This medicine is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Frequently asked questions

Ranomend 500 ER Tablet may cause changes in the electrical activity of the heart which is known as QT prolongation. Your doctor may get regular tests done to check the electrical activity of your heart. Tell your doctor right away if you feel faint, lightheaded or if your heart starts beating irregularly or fast, as these may be symptoms of QT prolongation. Ranomend 500 ER Tablet may also cause kidney failure in patients who already have kidney problems. Therefore, your doctor may need to do tests to check how your kidneys are working.
Urine discoloration could be because of Ranomend 500 ER Tablet. You need not worry if you do not have any other symptoms. However, if it still bothers you, you can talk to your doctor who will advise you further.
Excess of Ranomend 500 ER Tablet can cause nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, double vision, tiredness, severe tremor, confusion, hallucinations, difficulty in speaking and walking and you can even faint. If you have taken an excess of Ranomend 500 ER Tablet by mistake, call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical care in a nearby hospital.
Yes, it is safe to take the Ranomend 500 ER Tablet and Metoprolol together. Ranomend 500 ER Tablet has minimal effect on blood pressure in patients with angina.
If you are taking metformin along with Ranomend 500 ER Tablet, you have to be careful since Ranomend 500 ER Tablet may increase the levels of metformin in the body which can lead to metformin toxicity. Talk to your doctor who will modify the dose of metformin.
It is recommended not to take simvastatin and Ranomend 500 ER Tablet together because it may cause simvastatin toxicity which may lead to symptoms like muscle weakness and soreness, fatigue, decreased urination, etc. Let your doctor know that you are already taking simvastatin. If it is still necessary to take, then take it exactly as advised by the doctor.
