Product introduction

You can take Telzet CT Tablet with or without food. The dose will depend on your condition and how your respond to the medicine. Try to take it at the same time each day. It is important to keep taking this medicine until your doctor tells you not to. It contains a diuretic (water pill) and will make you urinate more so, it is best to avoid taking this medicine within four hours of going to bed. Use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it even if you feel well. High blood pressure does not usually have symptoms and if you stop taking it your risk of heart attack or stroke may increase.

The most common side effect is dizziness. Other side effects nausea, diarrhea, headache, and altered blood lipids. Frequent urination is not a side effect of this medicine. It is the purpose of chlorthalidone and helps control your blood pressure. You may experience other possible side effects, but most are rare. Make sure you read the leaflet that comes with your medicines and tell your doctor if you are bothered by side effects or they do not go away. It may be possible to adjust your dose or try a different medicine.

This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and you should ask your doctor before taking it if you have kidney or liver disease, heart trouble or diabetes. Drinking alcohol can further lower your blood pressure and may cause side effects.

Telzet CT Tablet is a combination of two medicines namely Telmisartan and chlorthalidone. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling your blood pressure effectively. Telmisartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is known as a diuretic (water pill) which increases urine output thereby lowering blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

Yes, the use of Telzet CT Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some people. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it would be best to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.
The use of Telzet CT Tablet is considered to be harmful for people with known allergy to any of the components of this medicine. It should preferably be avoided in people with severe kidney or liver impairment and in people with anuria (reduction or absence of urine). Its use should also be avoided in women who are in the second and third trimesters of their pregnancy.

You should not stop taking Telzet CT Tablet without consulting your doctor. If you do stop taking it, your blood pressure may rise and you may put yourself at greater risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. If you experience any persistent side effects, talk to your doctor.
Telzet CT Tablet is generally safe to take for a long time. Some blood pressure medicines work best when they are taken for a long time. Consult your doctor if not sure.
Usually, treatment with Telzet CT Tablet is long-term and may even be for the rest of your life. Talk to your doctor in case you have any concerns regarding Telzet CT Tablet, but do not stop taking it without consulting the doctor.
High blood pressure does not usually have any symptoms, so you do not feel ill if there is any fluctuation in blood pressure. Therefore, these tablets may not make you feel “better”. This does not mean that you can stop the medicine as they are working in the background to reduce your risk of serious illness.
Some blood pressure medicines (including water pills like hydrochlorothiazide) may affect a man’s ability to gain or maintain an erection (erectile dysfunction). Stop smoking and alcohol consumption as this helps in lowering your blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and fat-free products.
