Chlorthalidone + Efonidipine is a combination of diuretic and vasorelaxant medications. Chlorthalidone causes the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine. It leads to reduction in blood volume. Efonidipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels. Both ingredients work to reduce blood pressure.

Q. What if I give excess Oflomac MN Syrup by mistake?
Although an extra dose of Oflomac MN Syrup will not have any side effects, you must always be vigilant. If you think you have given too much Oflomac MN Syrup to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. Overdose increases the risk of unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. Rush to your child’s doctor on an immediate basis if you notice any of these symptoms.

Ineffective treatment with Oflomac MN Syrup could mean that the medicine is not able to act against the infection-causing bacteria. In such a case, visit your child’s doctor who may prescribe some other antibiotic, having more specific action toward the infection-causing bacteria.

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.

Inform the doctor if your child is suffering from heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because there is a possibility that Oflomac MN Syrup may aggravate these conditions and result in complications.
Q. My child has been passing red-brown urine ever since he started taking Oflomac MN Syrup. Is it normal?
Yes, it is normal. Oflomac MN Syrup contains an active ingredient called metronidazole which can cause red-brown urine. It is a harmless side effect. It will subside once the medicine is stopped after the completion of the treatment.
